When I was studying in China, my homeroom instructor devoted extra attention to me. In her opinion, I should have been the top student in the class, or at least better than  my twin sister. After every exam, she would compare my grades with my sister's, which made me feel pressured. There were also parent-teacher conferences halfway through each semester, so I worked even harder to ensure that my mother received more praise at those meetings.

As a group that values beauty, women also desire social recognition from within and without. When facing society, a woman's appearance is often the first thing others notice. In situations where there is little chance for prolonged interaction, a pleasing appearance can attract others and create a favorable impression.

The popularity of social media in recent years has provided women with a platform to showcase themselves, allowing them to shape a positive image and promote themselves effectively. This can lead to greater access to resources and a larger social circle. However, where there are positives, there are inevitably negatives.

In today's society, the expectations placed on women are increasingly high, and I appreciate this environment. In ancient China, there were many renowned female generals, politicians, empresses, and poets, which demonstrates the immense potential of women. Unfortunately, societal norms often resulted in the talents of many women being overlooked.

In this more open society, where women and men are allowed to compete on equal footing, it is conducive to women shaping better versions of themselves and enhancing their confidence. Due to physiological factors, women spend more time with their children than fathers do, which emphasizes the importance of women's self-awareness and confidence for nurturing high-quality offspring.

Perhaps I've encountered moments of confusion and perplexity, but I never let these worries weigh too heavily on my mind. Sometimes  It's better to take proactive steps forward and not get entangled in matters we can't resolve. With a life that's dynamic and brimming with passion and challenges, I don't fixate on being categorized as an independent woman by others.
